Administration of Arrogance

Administration of arrogance

By  RWBarker                                    3\25\06
             Eureka Ca.

Our president announced that he will  let another future president pull out
troops out of Iraq, in other word  three more years at least of this quagmire
called Iraq. One more disdain of  American democracy, in a long list of
arrogant displays by the current  administration.

An Iraqi child on our Television screens sits dangling an  appendage that was
once an arm, an American GI tells of his loss of limbs and  the neglect he
suffers from by the US governments Veterans benefits. Bombs go  off and kill
many daily, yet we see no real improvement in the terror that grips  the country
we ostensibly liberated. Services continue to be sparse and  erratic in Iraq,
electricity goes off at the most inconvenient times, water  supply changes and
trash pick up is sporadic.
Murder on the streets of Baghdad becomes more sectarian  and focused on
religious differences, and Iraq appears to be  in the dawn of civil war. Billions
of dollars pour into Iraq daily but  we see few positive results or progress
in this arrogant "Bring  em on" war designed by the Bush cartel to the positive
enrichment  of War contractors and oil barrens.

Yet with alll this obvious evidence for  failure Bush announced this week
that some future president will have  to pull out of Iraq.

"Bring em on," Bush said in an arrogant  display of bravado with others
lives and money on the line.

I was appalled at the lack of personal responsibility for our  peoples lives
he displayed. We watched in shock and slack  jaw, not Awe,  as Bush called the
terrorist out with our peoples blood and  our tax dollars, while he sat
safely in his office or vacationed at  his Texas ranch.

We shrugged as Bush pulled out of nuclear proliferation  treaties and other
peace arrangements to pursue the new Arms race with one  viable participant,
America
Our nation watched as Bush  arrogantly walked out on that aircraft carrier
with his cocky school boy  bully swagger and told us "Mission accomplished."

"What mission accomplished?

I asked myself this simple question as I watched  his ego driven display of
hubris unfold and the death march plays on in  Iraq.

We saw the Bush arrogance in the aftermath of Katrina as  he played Golf and
ignored the situation, then complimented Mr. Brown for a job  well done.

We watched as Bush Supreme, CT picks made even the  Republicans blanche, as
he picked his personal secretary and attorney for a  Supreme, CT seat. No
political experience, no judicial  experience, however she is a lawyer with one
exclusive practice the  Bush family. The outright hubris and arrogance it must
take to disdain  the Supreme, CT. position so blatantly, no president ever held
the Court in  such low regard.

Our mouths dropped open when the  Bush Administration announced that the
Port authority in at least six ports  was to be handed over to the Dubai
government, the same guys that four  years ago were backing Al Quada and recognized
the Taliban.
What gall it takes to feed the fear factor unashamedly  and then wonder why
his people are against the  Dubai acquisition.

Our government under Bush has covered up so much it left very  little out in
the open. The editing and changing of the environmental global  warming
reports by NASA scientist left us in the dark about the negative effects  of the
green house gases that are causing our Earth to warm up.
The outright hubris it takes to change information that  prepares the nation
for this reality is tantamount to treason. Global warming  does not help the
oil industries profits or make his friends more  wealthy. In fact, it distracts
from energy profits so they were covered up  and changed for the oil industry
to continue to reap maximum  profits.
Our Constitution is the bases for our laws and liberties, and  Bush swore an
oath in his inauguration to protect and defend this sacred  document, instead
he called it: "Just a piece of paper." Bush thinks our  founding fathers words
were just paper and the American law is his to  break, can we say maximum
arrogance.

The deeply dark Bush administration has starated secret  prisons in other
countries, tortured and denied rights to the people they  retain, all in the
name of security, a cover up for arrogance.

President Bush openly defies the FISA or the  Foreign Intelligence
Surveillance Act of 1978, requiring a court approved  warrant before wire taps or
surveillance of Americans can occur.

Our Fourth Amendment rights and free speech has been  under attack by the
Bush arrogance team. People arrested at public tax payer  supported events for
the T shirt they wear, or their differing  opinions.

The Bush cartel encourages the outsourcing of American  jobs, gives tax
breaks for leaving instead of staying. In other words  Bush rewards companies that
go off shore and punishes those that stay and  pay taxes.

King Bush has literally bankrupted the government and  borrows from China
like there is no tomorrow, leaving a deficit so large the US  may always be in
debt.
Monarch of greed Bush out spent every previous president  and never
appoligizes but brags of his accomplishments.

Arrogance runs the current administration, we see they  have no respect for
our laws or customs our economy nor our people, only one  thing seems to
matter to these corporate criminals, private  profits for the  energy industry.
Who Profit$ Most?
The Saudis, OPEC, Halliburton, Bush  families Carlyle Group, Exxon and the
entire energy industry are the  benefactors of this Administration of
arrogance, the American people are  the big losers in this game of greed. Arrogance is
so rampant that they no  longer deny breaking the law nor care that they
circumvent the  Constitution.
New heights of arrogance are reached daily.

This week, I  watched the most arrogant act so far in this Administration of
Arrogance, the  President announced that it will have to be some  other
president to  pull out troops  from Iraq. In other words we are there as  long as
he is president.

Billions lost weekly, lies as justification  for war, spying on Americans and
now this?

King Bush has just surpassed the powers of his office,  left congress in
ineffective apathy and damaged the concept of checks and  balance in the entire
system.Arrogance runs this administration, Greed is its  policy, death is its
resulting outcome and tryranny in the name of security its  goals.

America we are under the gun of true fascist and the  lies hubris and out
right greed are the strong evidence for  treason.

We must ask ourselves is this the kind of America we  belive in?

Israel and Iran: nuclear test cases
The condemnation by the US and other Western nations of Iran's decision to resume uranium enrichment highlights the difference between the treatment of countries such as Iran that are within the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) and suspected of developing nuclear weapons, and those outside the treaty - most notably, Israel - which already have nuclear arsenals, but are non-signatories. In signing the NPT Iran can be held responsible for non-compliance. Israel, however, has a well-established nuclear weapons programme and capability that, as a key US ally, avoids censure.

Serbia's new channels for foreign investment
A long-delayed licensing tender is signalling a major shake-up in the Serbian TV market. * Would-be foreign investors recognise the large potential of advertising revenue, with German, Greek and Cypriot companies bidding for licences. * Analysts expect the comparatively high cost of the licences to force the closure or ownership change of dozens of TV stations including BKTV, owned by Serbian oligarch Bogoljub Karic.

Brazil gets the numbers right
Brazil's long-term strategy of fiscal austerity is reaping dividends, with the country's finances now in such a buoyant state that Brasilia can pay down both sovereign and multilateral debt. * However, the economy has not fared so well, leading to calls for higher social spending amid criticism that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has failed to fulfil his election pledges to reduce poverty. * Lula will hope that the economy picks up in time to boost his re-election campaign, outweighing lingering damage done by revelations of a corruption scandal within his party.

Bird flu spreads to Africa
The discovery of the H5N1 avian influenza virus in Africa has raised fears about the continent's ability to tackle the threat. * A lack of adequate testing facilities and protective equipment has already been highlighted. * Weak healthcare systems are particularly worrisome should the virus mutate into a form that is transmissible between humans.

Emergency in the Philippines?
On the 20th anniversary celebration of the end of martial law, Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared a state of emergency. * Although the emergency claimed an alliance between communists and military mutineers, its likely real purpose was to clamp down on various forms of public, military and parliamentary opposition. * Ironically, the only winners of the debacle are communist insurgents and the leftist opposition who have won sympathy from large sectors of the public.

Pakistan's Kasuri: the born optimist
In an interview with Jane's, Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri asserted that Pakistan sought the same terms from the US that the country is currently offering India in a nuclear deal. - The foreign minister also stated that the slow Indo-Pakistan peace process has proved frustrating. - Although the 2005 earthquake may have had the effect of slowing militancy in Kashmir, the window of opportunity for India to deal with President Musharraf may be closing due to presidential elections next year.

Peru's Shining Path survives decimation to return to the fray
Peru's Shining Path insurgent group is beginning to step up its activity against the security forces, confounding expectations that the group would fade away after being decimated in the 1990s. * It is now adapting its recruitment tactics and drawing support from coca growers who are disillusioned by the government's coca eradication programmes and failure to improve social conditions. * Due to fiscal constraints, the security forces' ability to crack down on subversive elements has deteriorated severely from the 1990s, and they are unlikely to be able to stamp out the remnants of the Shining Path

Bush Poll Numbers Hit New Low Nearly 70 Percent Say US Headed in Wrong Direction

Poll Numbers on Bush Hit New Low
Nearly 70 Percent Say Country Headed in Wrong Direction
By RON FOURNIER, AP

WASHINGTON (March 10) - More and more people, particularly Republicans, disapprove of President Bush's performance, question his character and no longer consider him a strong leader against terrorism, according to an AP-Ipsos poll documenting one of the bleakest points of his presidency.

Nearly four out of five Americans, including 70 percent of Republicans, believe civil war will break out in Iraq -- the bloody hot spot upon which Bush has staked his presidency. Nearly 70 percent of people say the U.S. is on the wrong track, a 6-point jump since February.

"I'm not happy with how things are going," said Margaret Campanelli, a retiree in Norwich, Conn., who said she tends to vote GOP. "I'm particularly not happy with Iraq, not happy with how things worked with Hurricane Katrina."

Republican Party leaders said the survey explains why GOP lawmakers are rushing to distance themselves from Bush on a range of issues -- port security, immigration, spending, warrantless eavesdropping and trade, for example.

The positioning is most intense among Republicans facing election in November and those considering 2008 presidential campaigns.

"You're in the position of this cycle now that is difficult anyway. In second term off-year elections, there gets to be a familiarity factor," said Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., a potential presidential candidate.

"People have seen and heard (Bush's) ideas long enough and that enters into their thinking. People are kind of, `Well, I wonder what other people can do,'" he said.

The poll suggests that most Americans wonder whether Bush is up to the job. The survey, conducted Monday through Wednesday of 1,000 people, found that just 37 percent approve of his overall performance. That is the lowest of his presidency.

Bush's job approval among Republicans plummeted from 82 percent in February to 74 percent, a dangerous sign in a midterm election year when parties rely on enthusiasm from their most loyal voters. The biggest losses were among white males.

On issues, Bush's approval rating declined from 39 percent to 36 percent for his handling of domestic affairs and from 47 percent to 43 percent on foreign policy and terrorism. His approval ratings for dealing with the economy and Iraq held steady, but still hovered around 40 percent.

Personally, far fewer Americans consider Bush likable, honest, strong and dependable than they did just after his re-election campaign.

By comparison, Presidents Clinton and Reagan had public approval in the mid 60s at this stage of their second terms in office, while Eisenhower was close to 60 percent, according to Gallup polls. Nixon, who was increasingly tangled up in the Watergate scandal, was in the high 20s in early 1974.

The AP-Ipsos poll, which has a margin of error of 3 percentage points, gives Republicans reason to worry that they may inherit Bush's political woes. Two-thirds of the public disapproves of how the GOP-led Congress is handling its job and a surprising 53 percent of Republicans give Congress poor marks.

"Obviously, it's the winter of our discontent," said Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla.

By a 47-36 margin, people favor Democrats over Republicans when they are asked who should control Congress.

While the gap worries Republicans, Cole and others said it does not automatically translate into GOP defeats in November, when voters will face a choice between local candidates rather than considering Congress as a whole.

In addition, strategists in both parties agree that a divided and undisciplined Democratic Party has failed to seize full advantage of Republican troubles.

"While I don't dispute the fact that we have challenges in the current environment politically, I also believe 2006 as a choice election offers Republicans an opportunity if we make sure the election is framed in a way that will keep our majorities in the House and the Senate," said Ken Mehlman, chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Stung by criticism, senior officials at the White House and the RNC are reminding GOP members of Congress that Bush's approval ratings may be low, but theirs is lower and have declined at the same pace as Bush's. The message to GOP lawmakers is that criticizing the president weakens him -- and them -- politically.

"When issue like the internal Republican debate over the ports dominates the news it puts us another day away from all of us figuring out what policies we need to win," said Terry Nelson, a Republican consultant and political director for Bush's re-election campaign in 2004.

Bowing to ferocious opposition in Congress, a Dubai-owned company on Thursday abandoned its quest to take over operations at several U.S. ports. Bush had pledged to veto any attempt to block the transaction, pitting him against Republicans in Congress and most voters.

All this has Republican voters like Walter Wright of Fairfax Station, Va., worried for their party.

"We've gotten so carried away I wouldn't be surprised to see the Democrats take it because of discontent," he said. "People vote for change and hope for the best."

Associated Press writer Will Lester and AP Manager of News Surveys Trevor Tompson contributed to this report.

As go Bush so will the Republican Party

Bush REPRESENTS what republicans have stood for the last 8 years. As goes Bush, so goes the Republican party.

Bush is the figure head and representative of the Republican party. The Republicans have supported every initiative of Bush, and Bush has not vetoed a single Republican Bill from becoming law.

The Republicans are in trouble in the polls also, the Republican party is now starting to be viewed as the party of corruption and incompetence. Bush does not feel the pain of the average American. He identifies with the small percentage of Americans $750,000 and up, who are benefiting from this jobless 'recovery.'

The stock market hasn't budged since Bush has been in office.

Employment growth is anemic and NET employment is the slowest since the depression.

Real wages are going DOWN!

The Dollar's value is DOWN!

Consumer prices are UP!

The average American is worst off than when Bush entered office.

The war in Iraq is not going well, and if fact the Republicans are losing the war.

The terror threat world wide is GREATER since the invasion of Iraq!

Bin Laden is still Free.

America DID experience another terror attack, the Anthrax attacks!

No WMD's

The Downing Street memos

The Pentagon Memos

The Lie about the N.I.E.

Katrina

Plame

Warrantless Wire Taps on America

The breaking of the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons ban

Torture

Secret prisons in foreign countries.

Terri Schiavo unconstitutional law.

Abortion pandering

Same Sex Marriage pandering

Privatization of Social Security

Medicare Prescription Drug Fiasco

The National Debt

The National Deficit

All of these mistakes, errors, lack of judgment and sheer incompetence can all be firmly placed at the feet of the Republicans.

This is what Americans will be voting against in 2006!

If people only knew the facts, they would not be fighting for the 'RIGHT' to be screwed over.
